LAUNCH OF ELECTRONIC DMV PULL PROGRAM

Fleet Services is pleased to announce that our DMV pull notice program is going electronic on September 1, 2009. The electronic system replaces the current paper system for monitoring employee driving records. An initial report will now take 1-2 days, compared to 2-6 weeks under the old system.

Any change to the official record of an enrolled driver will now trigger email notification within 1-2 days, compared to 3-14 days with paper notification.

BACKGROUND

By law, the University is required to ensure that anyone who drives a University vehicle possesses a valid and appropriate license. By systemwide policy, the DMV pull notice system is the required method for verifying the licenses of employees hired specifically as drivers or employees who routinely drive a University vehicle in the course of their regular employment (Business and Finance Bulletin BUS-46).

 DETERMINING ELEGIBILITY
