Participate in a pilot program where 100 refrigerators will be offered on a first come-first serve basis at a steep discount ($275 off/almost 50% discount). The campus has partnered with PG&E to offer this incentive as part of our Strategic Energy Partnership. You can sign up to be notified of future discounts or to give feedback on the program. The program ends on November 30, 2009. For additional questions, please email brightgreenenergy [at] lists [dot] berkeley [dot] edu or review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). |
My department is ready to trade-in our old refrigerator. How do we get started?
1. First, go to http://businessservices.berkeley.edu/refrigerator-trade-in and complete the form to find out if your old refrigerator is eligible.
2. A program representative will contact you to schedule an inspection of your old refrigerator. After the inspection you will be notified of eligibility within 10 days.
3. If you are approved, your Department will be provided an Order Form and instructions on how to place the order(s) to Sears Commercial Center. The departments purchase the new refrigerator with their bluCard, not to exceed $550.00. For this pilot program, only model Kenmore 17.6 cubic feet (white) is being offered to maximize savings and simplify program administration.
4. The Agreement with Sears includes delivery of your new refrigerator and the removal of your old refrigerator. Please schedule the delivery and removal when you place your order.
5. After the new refrigerator has been installed and the old refrigerator has been removed by the supplier, your Department will be reimbursed $275 per each refrigerator replaced. The reimbursement will show up on the cardholder’s default bluCard chartstring submitted at the time of purchase. Departments can expect to receive the reimbursement by the end of January 2010.
This project was funded in part by the 2009-11 Energy Efficiency Partnership, which is a partnership including the University of California, California State University, and Investor Owned Utilities.
